The scaffolding has gone up, all 5 lifts to take it right up to the tall chimney stacks. The preparation and painting starts on all the wood-work, barge boards and joinery. We have made two more high level windows for the second floor bedrooms and we have decided to incorporate two conservation roof lights in the landing and studio room to bring more light into the second floor. The cast iron guttering needed some repair and maintenance but seemed a shame to replace with UPVC as it is real feature of the house and looks as good as new now.

Good news, the planning permission came through successfully and we just need to secure some fencing around the protected oak tree before we start any works on the excavation for the new garage and kitchen extension.

Internally work on the bedrooms continues to plaster out the new window installations and fitting cupboards with slatted shelving. We are making one of the rooms into a studio so it can be used by Oliver with his friends to hang out, to use as a gym, and as a photographic studio for Bill.
